T53 - 2005 Peace Tax Return The organisation – "conscience" campaigns for the legal right for those, who have a conscientious objection to war, to have the military part of their taxes spent on peace -building initiatives. Their website www.conscienceonline.org.uk gives you the chance to fill in a 2005 Peace Tax Return. It is not an official Inland Revenue form but "Conscience" believe it should be one page of the official Inland Revenue Tax Return - they've even designed it to look like an official page. They suggest making a declaration every financial year by completing a Peace Tax Return and posting it, if you object to wars. This form is for anyone with a moral or religious objection to military
spending, on grounds of conscience, who wishes to declare their objection to the
UK Government. It is suitable for employed and unemployed people, students,
pensioners, in fact everyone who objects to paying for war. |
