M3 - The Personal Factor Making patients feel "special" will take very little effort on your part, but could create a huge impact on them. When you see patients you will almost certainly make notes on their patient record cards. What you may not do however, is make small notes about them and what has been happening in their lives. Not trivial things, but big, landmark events such as the birth of a child, or moving house. Doing this will mean that the next time you see them, you will have something to talk to them about, and they will feel "special" that you remembered. If they have been with you for a while, you may even like to send them cards on such occasions, which would not take so much time or effort on your part, but would really make an impact on them. |
