T20 - I am a dental associate, and am a little confused as to which expenses will get me tax relief and which won’t.

You can get tax relief on expenses which are wholly and exclusively for the purpose of earning fees. The most common examples include:

Dental materials

Laboratory fees

Subscriptions

Course fees

Business printing, postage and stationery

Accountancy fees

Protective clothing (not suits/skirts/shirts etc.)

Mobile telephone (proportion reflecting business use of mobile phone)

Equipment, repairs & maintenance

Wages costs

Professional Indemnity

However, please note that Personal Health Insurance and Life insurance are not eligible.
